About The Kurzaal
Upon entering the impressive Kurzaal classic restaurant, the first thing that takes your breath away is the magnificent original fresco on the ceiling painted in 1904 and created by Belgian painter Van Hoeck.
The Kurzaal Restaurant, Scheveningen, is unique in many ways and has an impressive history. The Kurhaus hotel's restaurant is declared a national monument by the Dutch government; it is an exact copy of the original concert hall where for generations, world famous artists took to the stage including the Rolling Stones, Marlène Dietrich and Edith Piaf.
For many years the Kurzaal has remained one of the most important concert halls in the Netherlands. The concert hall is still as spectacular as it was 100 years ago - impressive because of its space, the crystal chandeliers and the frescoes on the ceiling, and intimate due to the stained glass windows and the unique acoustics. An exciting contrast is the modern decoration and the lively atmosphere of the Kurzaal Restaurant. Our Scheveningen restaurant's guests can enjoy live entertainment with live piano music.
